Before covering the repair, verify connections, slope, support, and any required inspection. Post-repair camera documentation can show the interior transition and confirm flow. Backfill and compaction should support the pipe and reduce future surface settlement.
Restoration may include soil, sod, xeriscape, irrigation, concrete, asphalt, flooring, or fencing. Clarify who performs each item and whether matching existing finishes is included. Comparing a spot repair with a sectional liner
Both approaches can address localized damage, but qualification differs. Excavation directly removes the failed section and can correct alignment, support, and slope over the opened area. A sectional liner seals a compatible interior segment with less surface disturbance but generally follows the existing shape and requires a passable, prepared host pipe.
A severe offset, missing section, active collapse, or localized belly can favor excavation. A crack or joint opening beneath an expensive surface may favor a sectional liner when the surrounding pipe is suitable. The quote should explain which defect characteristic drives the method rather than presenting surface disruption as the only consideration.

A post-repair camera should view the new section and as much adjacent line as practical. The final recording should confirm smooth transitions, open flow, and no debris left from construction. If the original camera could not pass the defect, the newly opened route also provides the first chance to inspect the downstream remainder.
That downstream inspection can reveal conditions not included in the original quote. The findings should be documented before the excavation is closed when possible, but avoid automatically expanding work without a documented reason.
